The Dallas operating picture

What the Dallas Fort Worth economy runs on

Many companies in Dallas touch the region's freight network every day, whether they ship goods, store them, insure them or finance them. These verified facts shape where we look first.

A Class I railroad headquartered next door

BNSF Railway lists its headquarters in Fort Worth and runs 32,500 route miles in 28 states and three Canadian provinces, with 9.6 million carloads shipped in 2025. Shippers, transload operators and trucking firms that work with that network handle rail paperwork and shipment status updates across several parties. Reading those documents and matching them to orders, with a person approving the result, is a practical first workflow.

An inland port with rail, air and parcel hubs in one place

AllianceTexas in north Fort Worth reports 602 companies and 73,134 direct jobs on its 27,000 acres, with a BNSF intermodal facility handling more than 1 million lifts a year, an Amazon regional air hub, a FedEx Southwest Regional Sort Hub and two UPS Ground hubs. A distributor or logistics firm working in that cluster coordinates appointments, carriers and inventory across several partners' systems at once. Connecting those handoffs and flagging the exceptions is integration work first and AI work second.

An airport that is also a cargo gateway

DFW International Airport, owned by the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, says 21 cargo airlines provide worldwide freighter service there and estimates more than $78 billion in total economic impact each year. Importers, forwarders and distributors moving goods through DFW manage customs paperwork, air waybills and shipment status across carriers. Reading those documents, matching them to orders and routing exceptions to a person is a defined workflow that can be tested before launch.

A deep logistics, hospitality and finance workforce

The Bureau of Labor Statistics counted about 891,800 jobs in trade, transportation and utilities, 442,900 in leisure and hospitality and 391,000 in financial activities in the Dallas Fort Worth metro in August 2026 (preliminary), out of about 4.36 million nonfarm jobs. With that much of the region's work tied to moving goods, serving guests and handling money, the order desk, the restaurant office and the finance team are where repetitive reading, matching and data entry pile up, and where AI that prepares the work for a person to approve fits most naturally.

Before you deploy AI in Texas

Texas privacy and biometric rules to know first

Two Texas laws come up early when AI touches customer or employee data in Dallas, and both were amended by the state's AI law that took effect January 1, 2026. This is a plain summary for planning, not legal advice; your counsel should confirm how each applies to your company.

Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (Bus. & Com. Code ch. 541)

In effect since July 1, 2024, it covers companies that conduct business in Texas or serve Texas residents and process personal data, though businesses that meet the federal SBA small business definition are generally exempt. Consumers can opt out of profiling used for decisions about lending, insurance, housing, health care or employment, and processing sensitive data or profiling with foreseeable risk requires a data protection assessment. The attorney general enforces it after a 30 day cure period, and since January 1, 2026 a vendor processing data for you must also help secure personal data that an AI system collects, stores and processes.

Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act (Bus. & Com. Code 503.001)

A company must give notice and get consent before capturing a fingerprint, voiceprint, retina or iris scan, or record of hand or face geometry for a commercial purpose, may not sell or disclose it except in narrow cases, and must destroy it no later than one year after the purpose expires. The attorney general can seek civil penalties of up to $25,000 per violation. The 2026 amendments add that a photo or other media found online is not consent unless the person made it public, so fingerprint time clocks and voice systems that identify callers deserve a review before any AI work touches them.

How an engagement runs

One workflow first. Then the next.

We start with a conversation about one recurring process: the people who touch it, the systems involved and the outcome you need. Then we map the work as it actually happens, agree a defined scope, build the integrations and AI into the software your team already uses, test the hard cases with that team, train the people who will run it, and hand it over with named owners.

Questions Dallas companies ask.

Do you have an office in Dallas?

No. Clairvance is based in Seattle. We fly into Dallas for on site discovery, testing and launch, whether that means a distribution center near the airport or a finance office downtown, and do the rest of the work remotely.

Which Dallas industries do you work with?

Distribution, transportation and logistics, finance, insurance, restaurant groups, manufacturing, accounting firms and food and beverage producers. Given the region's freight network and its large financial workforce, order and freight handling and finance operations are natural first candidates.

Do you work in Fort Worth and the rest of the metro?

Yes. The same approach applies across Dallas Fort Worth, including sites near AllianceTexas and DFW Airport: on site visits for discovery, testing and launch, with the rest of the work remote.

How does an engagement start?

With a conversation about one workflow: what happens today, which systems hold the data and what outcome you want. From there we write a defined scope that covers what we will build, how it will be tested and who on your team will own it after handover.
